YES, YES AND YES. This book is everything this genre should be!!!! Not to mention that this is Carley Fortune's debut novel.

Every Summer After is what Jenny Han was trying to write when she wrote The Summer I Turned Pretty. If Amazon Prime made this into a series instead, I would have been more than willing to watch.

I, quite literally, flew through this book in an unhealthy amount of time.

It is told in alternating timelines, which I feel like is hard to do while remaining engaging but Fortune does it flawlessly.

I LOVE SAM AND PERCY SO MUCH AND THEY MADE ME WISH I GREW UP IN A LAKE HOUSE AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THE BOY NEXT DOOR. There are so many moments that were heart-wrenching, but also so cute that I could cry.

I surprisingly liked Percy as a protagonist. She knew she had flaws and never tried to convince others that she was perfect and entitled to certain treatment, like The Summer I Turned Pretty counterpart, Belly.

It's so fitting how there was an Emily Henry review on the cover of the book, because if you love Emily Henry you will love Every Summer After!
